Penultimatology. The study of next-to-last things. The next-to-last sentence in a paragraph, for example, the next-to-last paragraph in a chapter, or the next-to-last chapter in a book. Or the next-to-last measure in a musical phrase, the next-to-last verse in a song, or the next-to-last song on an album.
Or the study of the word “penultimate” — my favorite word, meaning “next-to-last.”
Or the next-to-last period in time. Eschatology is the study of last things, in Christianity, ending with the Second Coming of Christ. So penultimatology would be the study of things prior to those that are the subject of eschatology. But it depends on your take on eschatology as to what things would be the subject of penultimatology.
I intend to discuss my views on Christian eschatology and, by extension, penultimatology, but actually my main focus here is not penultimatology at all, but rather, my views on a variety of subjects, my biography, and a variety of documents I’ve written and would like to share with the community.
